Sunday 30th July - Windsurf **** River Orwell at Levington - sunny periods.

Foil - 20.14 knot max, 18.74 knot ave, 14.14 knot hour, 18.15 knot mile, 51.98 km., 15.75 knot alpha.

Starboard Freeride 150 and a Evolution Freeride foil with a Naish Nalu 4.75.

Headed down to Levington fairly early to get out before high tide at 10.09 dropping off Mag at Trimley for her walk, she is picking up Maeva for the day too:) I arrived at the marina with plenty of water in the water and plenty of wind, cross on from the right so I quickly set up the foil board and with wind gusting to 22 mph with more in the middle I rigged 4.75 which proved correct for most of the near three hour session:) I set off at 9.15 and thought I had rrigged too small but found the wind on the far side of the river, with the wind WSW I thought I would stay on the corner where the wind would be strongest and was pleasantely surprised that you could sail down the river to Felixstowe docks, not bad with such a small sail:) The runs were the best part of two miles in pretty smooth water too, just me in the sunshine blasting by a few yachts with terns diving for fish, just lovely! Nothing super fast today as my dodgy knees don?t like being pushed too hard but I was pleased to get an 18 knot mile with some nice gybing too. July has been a good month for windsurfing with 13 sessions with probably another one tomorrow!
After three hours on the water and with the tide dropping the wind went patchy so I called it a day, pack-up, shower and home by 1.15 for an afternoon with lovely Maeva:)
